Our student production team creates high-quality video content for local organisations, charities, and businesses. You can see the standard of our work in the Showreel above — all filmed, edited, and produced by our students under professional supervision.
While our productions aim for enterprise-level quality, our core purpose is educational. Every project provides young people with genuine experience working in a professional environment, helping them build the practical skills and confidence they need to progress into the film and media industries.
All income is reinvested directly into future film productions, ensuring that students without industry connections still gain access to real on-set opportunities.
We’re always keen to collaborate with local partners. Contributions are open to discussion, and we aim to make our work accessible to small businesses, community groups, and charities across Sussex.
Our Approach to Fees
Varndean Film Production is first and foremost an educational project. For that reason, we keep fees intentionally modest and flexible.
Contributions are agreed on a project-by-project basis, with most work falling within the £100–£300 range. This ensures students can manage projects independently under supervision, while delivering professional, well-crafted outcomes for our clients.
For larger-scale or more complex projects, we are happy to begin a conversation. Where appropriate, such projects would be delivered in partnership with experienced industry professionals, with students contributing in clearly defined, supported roles as part of their learning.
All contributions are reinvested directly into student learning and future productions.
